BHS and CMHC Partners for Success
May 30, 2026
For the past 12 years, Burwell Public Schools and Community Memorial Health Center have partnered to provide valuable educational opportunities for students. Through this collaboration, students can earn their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with Lorie Spanel, CMHC Unit Coordinator and Education Specialist, paying only the fee for the final exam. This opportunity helps students gain certification, secure employment, and meet college prerequisites for healthcare-related careers. Since 2000, Lorie has also offered the Med Aid class, further expanding career pathways for students. “We are so fortunate to have this working relationship with CMHC,” said School Counselor Julie Tetschner. “Not only does it help our students meet their future goals, but it also helps to meet the employment needs at CMHC. It is a win-win for everyone.”
