September 09, 2025

Burwell Public Schools is proud to announce that this semester the following businesses are sponsoring students in either a work release program or a job training experience: Trotters Feed, Burwell Public Schools, Dry Creek Western Wear, Schneider Parts, Circle B, The Green Thumb, Dobbin’s Service Center, Hello Lovely, McMullen Automotive, Burwell Pharmacy, Cabin Realty, and Valley County Health Systems.

Work opportunities are intended to ensure that students gain the skills and competencies needed to achieve his or her desired post-school goals.  School to work programs are a part of an effective transition plan for our students, and we want to say thank you to those businesses in our community that are willing to support Burwell students with employment and independent living skills. Students are rated by their employers on such traits as: ability to follow directions, flexibility, self-confidence, courtesy, and punctuality.

The Burwell community is amazing, and many other businesses have supported students in the past, if you are interested in supporting a Burwell student at your place of business in the future, please do not hesitate to contact the school and speak to either Julie Tetschner or Risa Molesworth.
