New Paraprofessionals Join BPS Staff for 25-26

September 08, 2025

A graduate of Broken Bow High School, Mrs. Jamie Lech will be helping in the high school as a paraprofessional. Jamie has lived in Burwell for three years and has grown to adore the community. With two of her children in Burwell Elementary and two more starting Calamus Kids Preschool, she thought it was the perfect time to become more involved and give back in a meaningful way. Mrs. Lech is looking forward to working with dedicated and supportive staff to guide the students in the community.

Mackenzie Nuttelman will be joining the elementary staff as a paraprofessional in the kindergarten class. Mackenzie is a graduate of Cross County High School. Ms. Nuttelman is looking forward to working with the students and staff.

Emily Plock, a graduate of Aquinas Catholic and Central Community College – Columbus, joins the Burwell Public Schools’ team this year as a paraprofessional. Mrs. Plock will be helping students in both the elementary and high school. She is looking forward to building relationships with students and helping them succeed both academically and developmentally.

Alyssa Kloppenborg, graduated from Clearwater-Orchard High School and then went on to Dakota Wesleyan University to study Elementary Education. However, when COVID closed schools she moved back home. She is now a mom and is returning to education through UNK to finish her degree. Alyssa's favorite thing about being a paraprofessional is getting to help the students to understand the work they are doing, especially when it becomes that "ah ha" moment and they understand it more. She also loves getting to make learning fun! She states that, "I have always loved working with kids, so getting to be with them and getting to see their minds grow with knowledge that I have helped them learn is such an amazing sight to see." Alyssa will be working at Burwell Elementary School.
