Burwell Public Schools Announces New Tech Club and Striv TV

January 07, 2020

Burwell Public Schools Tech Club Announces StrivTV

Burwell Public Schools is proud to introduce Striv TV for the 2019-20 school year! With this new program, BHS students will be live streaming home events including football, volleyball and basketball as well as other major events such as graduation and concerts. This addition was made possible by generous contributions from Burwell Public Schools, Great Western Bank, Spelts Lumber and Hardware, Mann Accounting, Burwell Pharmacy, and the Burwell Youth Boosters. Additional sponsorships and advertising opportunities for the Burwell Striv TV channel are available by contacting Ronda Weber at Burwell High School, 308-346-4150.

Currently, the BHS Tech Club is spear-heading the broadcasting of events as well as working on other projects within the school.

Striv TV has two major benefits for students and community. First, BPS will be able to connect to families, friends and other district stakeholders who may not be able to attend activities, while also helping to promote many of the student programs and achievements at BPS. Second, BPS students will receive real world experience in broadcasting and technology. Students have already streamed basketball games as well as high school and elementary school Winter Concerts.

Striv is a Nebraska-based company from Henderson, which allows for live streams on a safe, school-appropriate site. There is a large network of other Nebraska schools who are using Striv streaming to not only reach out to families, friends & community members, but also as a learning opportunity for students.

Fans and guests can tune into Burwell Public School’s live stream at https://striv.tv/channel/burwell/ from anywhere that they have an internet connection on their device or phone.
