The 2023 Burwell Lady Longhorn Volleyball team is making history by becoming the first BHS team to punch their ticket to the NSAA State Volleyball Championships in over twenty years. The Lady Horns swept the Johnson-Brock Eagles in the District Final on Saturday, October 28 in Osceola to seal a state berth and become District Champions. The team enters the tournament with a 24-7 record and will face the #1 seed, Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Thursday, November 2nd at the Pinnacle Bank Arena, North Court at 1 pm in Lincoln. There will be a community pep rally for the girls on Tuesday, October 31 at 7 pm in the high school gym. All buildings of Burwell Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 1st and Saturday, Nov. 2nd to support and celebrate the Lady Longhorns in their quest.
