Farm Girls Market growers Bailey and Karsyn Bowers (Jayme, not pictured) grew cantaloupe and watermelon for the BPS school lunch program.

BPS Farm to School Activities in the Cafeteria

September 10, 2021

The BPS Farm to School program recently served locally grown foods on the school lunch menu.  Owners Bailey, Jayme and Karsyn Bowers of Farm Girls Market grew Cantaloupe and Watermelon for the program.  Locally sourced Peaches from Colorado were donated to the school lunch program from the Burwell Area Lions Club.  The Farm to School program is continuing to develop relationships with growers and is working through the processes of distribution, storage and seasonality of available foods. The program is still looking for any community gardeners who have products available and would like to donate or sell to the school.  Contact Michele Clements, School Lunch Program Manager at BPS.
