BHS 7th Graders Participate in Retreat

Burwell High School 7th graders recently had the opportunity to participate in the GLW Children's Council Smart Start Retreat at Kamp Kaleo in Burwell.
GLW Children's Council hosts the overnight 7th grade Smart Start Retreat which has been available to incoming 7th graders in Garfield Loup Greeley and Wheeler for the past decade. GLWCC covers all fees of the retreat. The 7th graders have the opportunity to learn various lessons on Seatbelt safety, Mental Health, Distracted Driving, Substance misuse, Vaping, Alcohol, Marijuana, and other Drug Awarnesses.
GLW Children’s Council puts on this retreat in hopes of an easier transition for the 7th graders as the approach the high school age where peer pressure can be at its strongest.
