Two BPS Staff Members Attend Nebraska Fall Ed Tech Conference

November 07, 2025

Morgan Gideon and Ronda Weber, staff members at Burwell Public Schools, recently attended the Nebraska Fall Ed Tech Conference at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney, Nebraska. The conference is sponsored by the Nebraska Educational Technology Association and features speakers and workshops the share the ways that technology is being used to enhance education.

The day-long conference on Monday, November 3rd began with keynote speaker, Trevor Muir. Trevor's presentation, "Teaching in a World That Won't Stand Still," was truly inspiring. He encourages, "innovation in education shouldn't be about abandoning best practices, but embracing what works while staying open to change. In an era shaped by artificial intelligence and rapid change, teachers need an innovative mindset that blends creative risk-taking, continuous improvement, and adaptability while staying grounded in tried-and-true pedagogy." Muir is an outstanding educator from Michigan that believes in the transformative power of education. He is an author, blogger, podcaster and founder of The Epic Classroom, his social media platform where he connects with millions of educators who share his passion for teaching and learning.

Mrs. Gideon and Mrs. Weber attended sessions that featured Artificial Intelligence in Education, AI and Writing Pedagogy, Engagement with Technology, Canva, and even an excellent student-led presentation from North Platte High School regarding their "Connecting with Community and Classroom Through Podcasts." The conference also featured educational and technology vendors with a variety of informational booths.

The NEFETC 2025 was a wonderful and inspiring experience that offered a lot of great information. Mrs. Gideon and Mrs. Weber are excited to implement some of the things that they learned into their classrooms!
