The Nebraska Coaches Association has released the 2024-25 Currency Academic Excellence Award recipients, with the Burwell Longhorns receiving the award for Class D. The NCA sponsors several annual awards to recognize those coaches and teams that contribute to the success of athletic programs in schools in the state of Nebraska. Each of the recipients are recognized at the annual NCA Awards and Recognition Banquet, are the association’s guests, and receive an engraved plaque symbolic of the award.
The Longhorn wrestling team met the criteria of at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA for the Fall 2024 semester or the 3rd quarter. The Longhorns are coached by the NSWCA Class D Coaches of the year, Luke Gideon and Evan Gideon as well as the NSWCA Class D Assistant Coaches of the Year, Mark Jensen and DJ Stephens. Congratulations Longhorns!
