Burwell Tech Students Compete at NETA Digital Content Creation Contest

May 05, 2025

Six Technology students from Mrs. Weber’s Innovative Technology and Digital Design classes embraced a challenge and participated in the 2025 Nebraska Educational Technology Association’s Digital Content Creation Contest on Thursday, May 1st in Kearney, Nebraska. The contest was sponsored by Class Intercom and was held in conjunction with the 2025 NETA Convention and Trade Show.

Mrs. Weber and Mrs. Gideon sponsored the group which included Calah Archibeque, Shaylee Hulinsky, Preslee Stout, Boston Klanecky, Shay Skalsky and Lena Spencer. The teams were able to bring any equipment that they thought they might need to complete the fourteen digital content creation tasks that were given to them upon the start of the contest. Each task had specific instructions and a point value. They had three hours to complete and upload as many of the content challenges as possible. Some examples of the challenges that the team had are: team photo, Happy May Day social media post, Hype Video, Blog, Video Interview, Facebook Reel, Instagram Story, Trending Social Media content, Teacher Appreciation campaign, and more.

This was the first time that Burwell has taken a team to the contest and they were the only Class D school to participate. While they did not finish in the top three, they did create some awesome content, learned a lot about creating specific content with a deadline and had a great time. Individual content creation winners will be announced by Class Intercom at a later date.
