The Burwell 8th grade students went on a college visit(s) sponsored through a grant from the EducationQuest Foundation. The students visited two colleges on Thursday, November 7th, 2024. First, the students toured Wayne State College (4-year state/public college) in the morning and ate lunch at the WCS cafeteria. Then the students traveled to Central Community College in Columbus (2-year public community college) and toured that campus in the afternoon."This is a unique opportunity for 8th grade students to step on campus, get a feel for the atmosphere, and an idea if this campus may be the right fit for them and their future," said the school counselor, Miss Tetschner. The students gained knowledge about programs of study, college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, campus life, student activities, and so much more.The students will continue to do a variety of activities with Miss Tetschner to help them prepare for their future endeavors.
