BPS Welcomes Five New Staff Members

Burwell Public Schools is proud to welcome five new staff members to the Longhorn family for the start of the 2024/2025 school year!
Burwell will have first year teacher Miss Jaden Donley teaching math at the Jr./Sr. High school. Miss Donley is a graduate of Minden High School and the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Miss Donley brings an unique skill set that will greatly benefit the students of BPS for years to come.
Ms. Azcuena Vera Chavez joins the Longhorn family after teaching in Grand Island Public Schools. We are excited to welcome her to our team and provide high quality Spanish instruction. Ms. Vera Chavez brings a vast knowledge of the language and culture to BPS.
Mrs. Sarah Scott brings years of experience and knowledge as she joins the Longhorns after her time teaching in Arcadia Public Schools. Mrs. Scott has been a resident of Burwell and we are excited to have her now on staff sharing her passion for helping students improve daily.
Burwell Public Schools also welcomes Miss Ty Petersen to the Burwell family. She is starting her new role serving as the Elementary secretary. A graduate of Burwell we are honored to have Miss Petersen back on campus impacting our elementary school by sharing her positive energy.
The Longhorns also welcome back another alum, Miss Carlie Helgoth. Miss Helgoth will be working in both buildings as a paraprofessional. Miss Helgoth is working on her elementary education degree and we are ecstatic to have her on our team helping make a difference!
Burwell Public Schools is excited for the 2024/2025 school year! Please join us in welcoming our new staff as you see them around town and in the school. We are thankful for our new staff and our returning staff.
