BHS 9th Grade Career Day
December 19, 2022
Burwell Jr Sr. High School 9th grade students attended a Career Day at Northeast Community College on Monday, December 19th. "This free event by NECC is a great opportunity to really experience and learn more about careers of interest," said school counselor Miss Julie Tetschner. Students pre-registered by signing up for different programs of study and were able to attend up to four sessions. Each session provided program information and hands-on activities. Some students experienced: escape rooms, painting, crime scenes, building a computer, dissecting, drones, automotive painting, tractors, animals, and much more. "I really enjoyed the crime scene lab," said Rea Petersen. "We got to be real crime scene investigators by learning to take fingerprints, evaluating evidence, and coming up with our own conclusion to what happened. It was pretty interesting."
