Dodgeball Tournament A Hit!

According to Ben Stiller’s 2004 movie, there are five D’s in dodgeball: dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge. The Class of 2016 at Burwell High School has added another D – donate.
The seventh grade raised $673.84 from the dodgeball tournament, held March 24 in the high school gymnasium. The Sprint Character Education grant threw in $200 to bring the total money raised for the Burwell Swimming Pool Project to nearly $900.
The tournament saw eight teams, including teams from each grade level 7-12, Senora’s Spanish II class, and BHS Teachers and faculty. The freshman class claimed the title of 2011 BHS Dodgeball Champs by defeating the seniors, juniors and 8th grade. No broken bones or other age-related injuries were reported by the teachers or staff, and the crowd got some good laughs.
A special thank you goes out to Mr. Gideon, Mr. Owen, Mr. Max and Jordan Klimek for helping run the tournament.
