Miss Tetschner           julie.tetschner@burwellpublicschools.com      3083464150

August 2026

Senior Seminar class can expect a variety of activities throughout the semester: career exploration, interest inventories, college applications, housing, financial aid, budgeting, scholarships, ACT prep, basic life skills, insurance, career readiness, job search, dressing for success, interviews, and much more.

Supplies:

  1. Blue or black ink pens
  2. One single subject notebook (not to be used for other classes)
  3. One pocket folder
  4. Chromebook

Class Expectations:

  1. Bring all needed material to class.
  2. Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
  3. Do assignments.
  4. Treat fellow students and teachers with respect.
  5. Follow all rules and regulations in the student handbook.

Homework Guidelines:

Homework is to be completed by class time the day it is due. Homework turned in after the due date will not be accepted for a grade unless discusses with Miss Tetschner beforehand, and all homework must be turned in.

NOTE: We all have computer problems. If this happens, I expect you to communicate the matter with me before school. My suggestion to you: Don’t wait until the last minute to do an assignment and use your class time wisely.

Notebook/Folder:

The purpose of the notebook is to keep track of all the materials that will be helpful to you during class and to reflect on the information covered over the course of the semester.

  • Keep all notes, handouts, etc… that will help you create your own handbook for future use.
  • At the end of the semester you will create a working table of contents of the material in your notebook. This maybe something you work on each week.
  • Notes should be legible and should contain specific examples when necessary. It is your responsibility to take complete notes over both written material as well as lectured material.
  • Your name should be on the front of your notebook.
  • Notebooks maybe collected each week for a weekly grade and graded on how well you meet the criterion listed above.

Disciple Procedures: Students who fail to follow the class expectations will be reprimanded.

  1. Students will receive ONE verbal warning for their actions.
  2. Students who do not choose to change their action after a verbal warning will receive ONE 15 minute detention.
  3. Students that continue to choose the wrong behavior or action will be dismissed to the Principal’s office.

Note: Miss Tetschner’s Disipline Procedures are for minor infractions of the above class expectations. Please see the student handbook for further details of proper student conduct and disciplinary actions.

Grade Policy:

Students will be graded on (homework, quizzes, tests, and projects) a points system with the use of rubrics and other techniques.

Test Retake Policy:

  • Only students who have put forth the effort to prepare for a test will have the opportunity to retake a test.
  • Only one test per each nine weeks may be retaken.
  • Anyone whose test grade is less than a 70% may take a supplemental test.
  • The test must be completed outside regular class time.
  • The supplemental test must be completed within one week of the original test date.
  • Student must arrange to take the supplemental test with Miss Tetschner at least a day in advance.
