Nebraska Teacher/ Principal Model Evaluation Project  Rationale & requirements (salmon colored paper)

An SLO is a:

  • measurable, long-term academic goal

informed by

  •           available data

that a

  •             teacher or
  •           teacher team

sets at the beginning of the year for

  •             all students or for
  •           subgroups of students.

A Professional Learning Goal:

each teacher individually

  • sets a goal to improve in ONE of the 60 Marzano elements of his/her choice.

The teacher then writes a plan

  • includes “a sequence of appropriate activities leading to accomplishment of the goals.

The [PLG] is designed to lead to a positive change in job performance”   (NDE Professional Development Plan Evaluation Rubric).
