Burwell FFA Holds Banquet

The Burwell FFA Chapter held its Annual Banquet the evening of Monday, April 19th in the Burwell Public Schools Commons Room, with over 100 members, parents, and guest in attendance. Throughout the night several members and friends of the FFA were recognized for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Individuals receiving special recognition were Miranda Maxson – Star Greenhand Award, LaNae Maxson – Dekalb Award for the outstanding senior, Cory Johnson – Star Chapter Farmer, & James Porter – Star in Agricultural Placement. The Burwell FFA Chapter awarded Dale and Teresa Seidel & Marvin and Donita Hulinsky with the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree for their help and dedication to the Burwell FFA Program. Outstanding Scholastic Achievement in Agricultural Education Awards were presented to Senior – Jordan Seidel, Junior – Cory Johnson, Sophomore – James Porter, and Freshman – Makenna Brunken. The Top Point Winner in Range Judging Events for 2009 was given to junior Cory Johnson. The Top Point Winner in Livestock Judging for the year was given to freshman Rachelle Green. Tucker Stout a junior at Burwell Public Schools was recognized for being the Top Fruit Sales Member and also the Chapter Workhorse for the Year. The 2010 - 2011Chapter Officer Team was slated through an interview process which was held the previous week, the Officers for the 2010 – 2011 year are: President: - Cory Johnson, Vice-President: - Tucker Stout, Secretary – James Porter, Treasurer – Anna Owen, Reporter – Miranda Maxson, and Sentinel – Ashton Weber.
Upcoming Chapter Activities – The chapter will be holding a trash pickup on May 10th at 4:30 and the 2010 – 2011 Officer Team will be travining to Aurora NE for the Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) toward the end of May.
