About Mrs. Goochey

My name is Susan Goochey and I am the media specialist at Burwell Elementary School.  I graduated from Aurora University which is west of the great city of Chicago (my birthplace).  I have done graduate work at Wayne State College, the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and the University of Wyoming.  I have a degree in Spanish and Social Studies and am also endorsed in K-12 Educational Media.

Besides being the media specialist at our school, I also am the gifted coordinator and the K-6 Spanish instructor.  I have taught high school Spanish and Social Studies but am now employed full-time as an elementary teacher.

I am a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international teaching society.  I am also active in our local education association and have served as its treasurer for the past 15 years.

I love to travel and have been fortunate to make several trips overseas to China, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.  I was a member of a delegation to go to China to study their schools, libraries, and publishing houses.  History is also an interest of mine and I have been able to travel the Oregon, Santa Fe, and Lewis and Clark trails during the summer months.

Comments, questions, or concerns?? E-mail me at sgoochey@esu10.org.
