Dear Students and Parents,

On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to welcome you to Burwell Elementary School.  We look forward to having you in our school.  I hope that it will be an outstanding learning experience for your child.

Burwell Elementary School believes:

• Education should challenge students to reach high standards and to learn to their full potential.
• That all students have the ability to learn, have unique skills and talents, and need to be taught using a variety of teaching tools that will result in individual growth and success.
• Communication, cooperation and mutual trust between community, parents, staff and students is essential to achieve the best possible education for our children.
• Education should develop communication skills, problem solving skills and technological skills for life-long learning.
• The school system should encourage respect, excitement, cooperation, leadership, learning and pride in their school and community. 

It is the mission of Burwell Elementary School to educate students, with parent and community involvement, so that challenges presented by an ever-changing society can be addressed with confidence and success.

Our dedicated and talented staff is among the brightest and the best.  We educate all of our students. And we educate them well.  We have committed ourselves to the journey of educating the individual, in his/her own special way.

Achievement in school is our #1 goal.  Please encourage your child to challenge him/herself daily to rise to the highest level of academic success.  Getting a good night's sleep, attending school regularly and having good study habits will help in the learning process.  These three things, along with the positive support from home will greatly increase the success of your student.
