BPS Asks for Participation in School Improvement Parent & Student Surveys

Dan Bird, Superintendent

January 29, 2014

All schools in the state of Nebraska are required to participate in a continuous school improvement process.  In order for a school to remain accredited with the State of Nebraska, we are required to host an external team which will come into our school and look for things we do well and help us in areas where we can improve.  We are planning our next external visit in the fall of 2014.

To help us get ready for the external visit next fall, we will be required to survey parents, students and teachers to get a pulse on their perception of how our school is functioning.  This information will be helpful and it will provide us with things we can do to improve the school.  The Parent Surveys are going to be administered in conjunction with parent-teacher conferences.  The surveys will be online and the information will be compiled with the use of technology.  If you have students at more than one school, we would like you to take the survey at both schools your children attend.  The survey will take 5-10 minutes.  Below is the schedule of the Parent Survey.

The survey link will also be available by accessing the District's website at www.burwellpublicschools.org
